Catalytic Synthesis of Benzylaldehyde Ethylene Glycol  Acetal by Neodymium Trifluoroacetate

三氟乙酸钕催化合成苯甲醛乙二醇缩醛

Abstract: The catalyst neodymium trifluoroacetate was prepared and characterized with qualitative analysis, then the acetalization of benzylaldehyde and ethylene glycol was studied with neodymium trifluoroacetate as a catalyst. The effect of reaction time, the molar ratio of benzylaldehyde to ethylene glycol, the amount of catalyst and water-carrying agent on the yield of benzylaldehyde ethylene glycol acetal was investigated. The results show that the optimal conditions for the reaction are as follows: benzylaldehyde/ethylene glycol molar ratio 1.1, the amount of catalyst 0.3 g, cyclohexane as a deaquation reagent 8 mL, reaction time 2.5 h, the yield of acetal could reach 87.6%.

摘要: 制备了三氟乙酸钕催化剂,并进行了表征定性分析。研究了三氟乙酸钕催化苯甲醛与乙二醇的缩醛化反应,考察了反应时间、醛醇比、催化剂用量、带水剂用量等因素对苯甲醛乙二醇缩醛收率的影响。实验结果表明,在回流条件下,醛醇摩尔比为1.1,催化剂质量为0.3 g,带水剂环己烷体积为8 mL,反应2.5 h后,缩醛收率可达到
